Just wishing to let you know about this new research :
Here are thousands of early commercial recordings, mostly European, all digitized displayed and partly audible online : “Early Gramophone Records and Phonograph Cylinders On-line Database” – http://www.phonobase.org
Many of these sources are from French companies of course, but the data also includes 300 Berliners and also many Gramophone and Typewriter records.
Vunderful!! Vunderful!!! This place is like a hidden forest. I think I can hear Thomas’s voice, so abundent with joyful anticipation. Thankyou so much.
The death is announced of the former EMI engineer Francis George Dillnutt on 22 August 2015 aged 91. Dillnutt joined EMI in July 1940 aged 16 and became a distinguished classical balance engineer during the 1950s and 1960s. He work also worked on sessions in Rome and Vienna with
the producer Victor Olof. Dillnutt retired from Abbey Road in 1985 or 1986 spent the later of his career in charge of LP transfer work.
