The Townhouse Studios Cutting Department

The Townhouse in Goldhawk Road London was originally one of the studios owned by Virgin Records. It was established in 1979 and became part of EMI when Richard Branson sold Virgin Reords to that company in 1992. Sanctuary Records bought it from EMI in 2002 and closed it down at the end of March 2008.

Townhouse had 3 main recording studios, numbered 1,2 and 4.Not sure what happened to #3. You can see a small tour of the studio back in 1999, here.

Townhouse also had a mastering department which was originally called the cutting department. this is the logo.
